Girls in ICT
Last week, AL Qualaa Secondary School’s tenth-grade students were fortunate to participate in the “Girls in ICT” Day hosted by OGERO, where they were inspired by numerous influential women working in the field. “Girls in ICT” Day, supported by ITU Member States, seeks to empower girls and young women to explore ICT careers. Celebrated annually in April, the event aims to introduce girls to ICT opportunities. This year’s theme, “Leadership,” underscores the significance of female role models in STEAM fields. Objectives include showcasing OGERO’s work, facilitating interactions with role models, fostering interest in ICT careers, and enriching understanding of telecom and internet technologies.
